The child-centred, boutique nursery school in Hadley Wood was founded by Alexandra Samara in 2015 with a specific educational ethos. Alexandra has been working in the field of Early Years Education for over sixteen years and her primary goal is to help parents and teachers tune in to their children’s development and learning. She is wholly committed to the idea that a child should be provided with a carefully planned environment (both physical and emotional), wherein the child can grow unobstructed and develop key skills, shaping its attitude towards lifelong learning.
Early Education Team
The core educational team at the School consists of the following roles:
- Head of School
- Deputy Heads (Leaders of Learning & Outcomes, SENCO, Paediatric First Aid)
- Up to two Early Years Educators
- Trainee Early Years Teacher(s)
Alexandra has acquired an Early Years Professional Status (EYPS), and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Child Development, a Diploma in Leadership & Management, and a BA in English Language and Literature. She is a qualified Ofsted inspector and a teacher for the Early Years Teaching Programme. Her experience includes working for over twelve years as an Early Years Consultant in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, and supporting private nurseries and independent schools to improve their quality of service. She has acted as a coordinator for various projects by the Department for Education, such as the “Every Child a Talker” project. As an Ofsted inspector she has assessed the quality of provision and teaching in various early years settings across London. She has also been involved in the delivery of parenting classes and workshops in local schools and children’s centres, helping parents gain the confidence and knowledge they need to support their child’s development.
At least two Deputy Heads are qualified teachers (QTS) and everyone working with us is expected to have a minimum of Level-3 qualification, or be working towards it.
Consulting & Parenting Classes
Alexandra has witnessed numerous times the educational transformation that a child can undergo in an early years setting, and how this drives tangible outcomes in the early learning of young children, their development, and their interactions with their parents and peers. As an early years consultant, she often applies this experience to new and established settings, offering consultancy services to nurseries that want to improve the quality of their services and Ofsted outcomes, as well as parenting classes. Please do get in touch if you are interested in these services.
